Artist Statement: Many people do not express their feeling and they end up stuck inside and never come out. This is the story that my painting has. This girl is looking inside a mirror and then in her reflection she can see that everything is all shattered and broken just like she is in the inside. I choose the color red for her lips because she is angry at herself for not expressing how she feels and not telling anyone. Instead she decides to wear a mask and act like she is happy and everything is all right in her life. Also the color blue for her eyes, in my opinion, means the emptiness she has and how lonely she feels but does not express these feelings because she does not want to seem weak. The black means fear and darkness, she has many dark secrets and problems she does not want other people to know because they might think different of her.

Artist Statement: There are many teens every year that want to commit suicide. My piece is about this girl wanting to commit suicide and is on the edge of the bridge because she wants to fall down to the sea but something is holding her back. She sees a blue whale that jumped out of the water and it symbolizes death because it's said that blue whales kill themselves or commit suicide. The waves are crashing in because in the moment it is really serious and dark so that's why the sea is going crazy. My inspiration was the Blue Whale Challenge. It is something that you should not agree to and play. It's when someone messages you and tells you if you want to play a game and if you say yes then you have to harm yourself for 50 days. Some of the things that it tells you to do is cut yourself, overdose and the last day you need to commit suicide but it needs to be something that no one will forget. This is why I made this because she does not want to do kill herself but if she doesn't she thinks that something bad might happen because she is not following the rules

Artist Statement: Many people don't really care about homelessness because they think that they are useless and they are just begging for money because they are too lazy to get a job. That is not true for all of them because some of they are handicap and are unable to work or some are just left alone because they are too old. They need to take care of them but their loved ones don't want to or want to send them to a facility because they do not want to waste money on them or just don't care for them, that's why they end up on the streets. This is what I want to get or people to get what my painting is about. I want them to know that a lot of the times it is not the persons fault that they are homeless because some are not capable. There are many people who stare and do not give any money for them even though they have enough for the things that they want, than the things that they need. Homeless people also feel hungry and also have needs so they wont die and that is what I want to get through my painting to tell everyone that they are also important to the community.

Artist Statement: When you are at home you feel comfortable and safe. A lot of people like to decorate their house with the colors that match the season that we are in so they have the same mood and fit in the times or month. In my art piece I want people to see that I am trying to make my vase with autumn colors and make them feel warm and relaxed. I also want them to feel how colors matter when you are in the room because it might make things sad, happy, angry, gloomy etc. When they look at this I want them to see or say that they feel safe and feel like they are in season because when you want to feel the seasons it doesn't always have to be the weather, you can always have the same feeling inside your home.
